Twelve hours until my last Intro Bio midterm. Eleven of those available for studying, because I'm going to Tai Chi just before the exam. I skipped it all of last week. I must go tomorrow. But actually, I don't really care if I get the credit. I'm going to continue with it as long as I possibly can, so I'll get the credit I need and then some. But anyway, yes, I'm going tomorrow. I'm going to need something relaxing just before the exam. I'm not really worrying about it right now, which is a very good thing, because I have lots of studying to do for it, and if I was worrying about it, I would not be able to study well. But earlier I was certainly panicking. I finally got a hold of the old exam from two years ago. Walking down the hall back to my room, I realized that there weren't very many pages in my hand. So I take a good look at it to discover that there are a grand total of two pages of exam material. Six multiple choice questions. And this was written to be a 60 minute exam! After calling Meg in a panic, I read through the questions. I understood two of them. Damn. I should have started studying earlier, probably. But no. I spent most of my weekend doing no work at all. My aunt was in town, so we went to dinner Friday night and then I spent most of Saturday with her, returning to campus just before ten and then jaunting off to hang out in Eastport I (which I've done for two Saturday nights in a row... Foreshadowing for next year?) eating Ramen noodles and watching The Wizard of Oz. And then much of today was taken up with sleeping late, a long brunch, concert, and of course, now studying. Should have started earlier. Ah, well. I did get off campus. Oh boy did I get off campus. There actually is a world beyond Reed! That "Portland" they tell us of actually exists; it's not just scenery. And I know my way around a little better than I thought I did. It helps that I had a map...which I think I left in my aunt's rental car. Damn. Those things are kind of expensive. Ah well. I got to go to the Saturday Market and to watch a movie, and eat beef that I could trust to be cooked well. Yay! Well, I should probably get back to studying. Yay digestion. Speaking of digestion, I'm kind of hungry... And all I have is half a package of egg noodles. And stuff to make tortillas, but I don't have that kind of time. Maybe I'll have some noodles in a while. But now I must think Biology.

I headed to the arena for my gladitorial contest at about four. I was ready for it. I didn't stay up until five thirty in the morning studying and then skipping all that is Hum to study for nothing. The beast didn't seem as scary as they told me it would be. Somehow, the fact that it was three pages of test material instead of only two was a little comforting, though it was still only six questions. None of them repeated from before, but that's okay. I still finished rather early, earlier than on any other test, even though I had to hunt around for a place in which to grapple with the beast, as someone was at my desk. Or, rather, at my HA's desk. But I use it too. So I went to the thesis tower instead, which was actually pretty nice and rather empty. Well, now that I've finished that, I should probably get to other work. Or other things that could possibly be productive.
