I saw a rainbow today. There was a storm in the afternoon, well, evening, I suppose, but the sky was uncovered out west when the sun was setting. It was a double rainbow, almost.

Well, I spent quite enough money today. There was, of course, the pie. But then there was the book I got at Bound to Be Read. I finally got One Hundred Years of Solitude. I'm glad I finally get to read it. And when I'm done, perhaps my dad will borrow it. He actually seemed interested in it! I haven't ever seen him read a book. The newspaper, all the time. And he talks about having read books in school. But I've never actually seen him read a book.

I also used my gift certificate at Hastings. That is one rather strange store. First of all their classical collection is crap. Fine if you want Bach or Mozart, but anyone else, and you might find what you're looking for. But probably not. And their pricing is screwy. Some of Moby's CDs are marked $14.99 and some are marked $15.99. For the same album! Same thing with the Nortec Collective, which I did get. They had one marked $12.99 and two more marked $11.99. I got the latter. I also got the soundtrack to Memento.

AIM has decided not to work for me. It's worked twice in the past several days. This does not make me happy. But hey, at least I could get along with my parents today (they got back this evening) and I think I made my dad's day with the pie.

I was going to go earth-surfing today, but I was too impatient to stand out in the driveway until the sun came up, because it took longer than I had expected. But now I know that I have lots of time once the sky begins to lighten.
