No Work (Yet) This Weekend
Nov. 24th, 2002 03:33 pmLife is a crazy, funny, awful, beautiful thing. Mostly crazy, though.
I seem to have been spending more time being social in the German House this year than I did when I lived there.
Right now I am procrastinating, even though I haven't actually done any work since Thursday afternoon. Thursday evening was spent having people buy me dinner and dessert and then going to hang out and play computer games, then going and hanging out some more.
Then Friday was sleeping in and not doing much between my weekly meeting and Friday@Four other than hanging out with people of the graduated sort. The Friday@Four was pretty long, but quite good. After dinner I went to Beaujolais at the French House and generally ended up hanging out with a bunch of people who are old enough to buy alcohol. We stayed at the French house for a while, playing a game called "How Many People Can We Fit On This Couch?" then transferred to the German house for a little while. Thus we saw Nathaniel and Tyler and the person Tyler is staying with. Then they went away, to visit Jamie, and the rest of us (Matt, Kristina, Christina, Molly and I) went to Safeway to get some more alcohol, having had wine at the French house and the opportunity to drink whiskey at the German house. Then to Matt & Kristina's for a while, then back to campus to hang out with Laurel and sit in the SU.
Yesterday I got up early and went to work at the theater for four hours, painting. Then orchestra rehearsal, during which I took a nap. Then wasting some time, taking a nap and a shower, and then going to campus at seven to get good seats for Margaret Cho. Oh, it was so good. Carlotta flipped when Margaret Cho answered her question, and again when she made fun of her a bit. I haven't finished processing all the things she said, so I'm not going to write about it just yet. Afterward, we investigated the party in ODB, which seemed rather chaotic and all over the place, and hadn't even gotten started, really. So we went to the German house, where there was a gathering of people we knew. After we left, Carlotta and I went to get the vodka from my house while Meg, Kate, Eileen and Christina went to the Hotcake House. We ended up hanging out at the neighbors' below Carlotta for a while, and then watching Lord of the Rings (extended version) and eating Taco Bell and falling asleep in the middle of the movie.
So today should be work day, aside from playing in the orchestra concert.
