The French Girl Driving Has Good Taste In Music

The show closed tonight. There is relief, because now I have more time and I won't have this mental split between weekday school and weekend play going on. But there is also sadness, because, well, it's over. But that's mitigated by the knowledge that I haven't seen the last of everyone. (Though there is one person I could stand to not see ever again.) Tonight after strike, everyone but Jake and Bruce went to the Atomic Cafe for Alabama Thunderpussies, because Pearl's Dive is closed Sunday nights. It got too loud there - band playing - so those of us remaining (both Johns, Joscelyn, Jessica, Rachel from the Vortex board, Eric, and I) went to Gecko's, which was much quieter and more conducive to actual conversation. Last night was the official closing party, and even Bruce showed up. We went to the Frontier first, because some people needed to eat. Joscelyn and I left there early, because she wanted to go to her house to get something and so that we could pick up some alcohol to contribute to the party. We found Eric in the parking lot, so he went with us. And we eventually all got to Gabrielle's and had a damn good time. I stayed after the others left because I needed to sober up a bit, so I watched the clocks change with Gabrielle and Greg.

Next Friday we're having a cast trip to see Othello at the Adobe, and meeting at Gecko's beforehand, thus getting everyone included in the evening. So there's that, at least. And we've apparently got an e-mail list going with everyone on it. Prospects look good for staying in touch with the core social group - those of us who partied together most often. Eric and stage manager John have my number, and I'll of course keep in touch with Gabrielle, this being our second show together. Joscelyn I'll see around campus.

But now it's bed time, and I shall go to sleep happy.
