Seattle Or Bust!
Jan. 19th, 2001 01:48 amSo, I finally got to Seattle. And I got a lamp! It's a floor lamp and is lightbulb-shaped at the top. There's now nice light in my room. None of that fluorescent-light-with-a-plastic-cover-over-it crap. The drive up wasn't bad. It was raining most of the way. What else would you expect in the Pacific Northwest? So I saw Seattle by rainy night. We left Portland at about five in the evening. We got to the Ikea store at about eight and had an hour and a half to be there. Didn't actually need that long, though, even though we did walk through the whole store. (It's kind of a maze, with showroom-type things before the section with the merchandise.) And I found my lamp. I like it a lot. I didn't find a rug, but that wasn't the important thing. I can deal with having the tile floor, but the lighting in my room was driving me nuts. After that, we ate at this Chinese restaurant in Mercer Island. It was pretty decent.
I'm kind of tired now, and so I'm not going to elaborate very much. Writing is a bit of an effort. And it's two in the morning. I should probably go to bed, since I plan to actually get up before noon tomorrow and check out some Paideia classes.
