Today I had to delete things from my network disk so that I could save more huge files onto it. And now I need to manipulate those saved images so that they're actually visible in Photoshop, because they show up black.

Anyway.

This weekend was pretty full. Friday I went to sleep early. Saturday wasn't so busy; I had orchestra rehearsal and that was about it. In the evening I went out to dinner with pretty much the basic group sans Meg-James (Kate, Lidiya, John and I). Steak is an excellent thing. And after that, it was the "progressive party" in the language houses. The original idea was to go to each of the four Woodstock houses, sampling different beverages along the way, and accomodating the Chinese house somehow. What actually happened was that the entire array of beverages was located in the Russian House, and therefore so was the party. So, Friday having not turned out the way I'd planned, and with the party on Saturday, I still have not cracked open my brand new bottle of vodka (thanks to Liz) so I have the whole thing available for Renn Fayre. Which is in four days. Which is something of a cause for panic. But anyway, back to the past weekend. Sunday was a rather full day. I got up something like early, certainly for a Sunday, and tried to go do lab work but there didn't appear to be anyone around. So I went to build props for Glo Opera. I spent an hour cutting things out of cardboard, and another half hour spray painting a sheet. I'm sore today because of that. After prop building, I did get to do my lab work. My hands were shaking from holding them in the position required for spray painting, which proved to make writing numbers on the caps of tiny little PCR tubes quite interesting. But, I got it done. The PCRs didn't work, however, but that means fewer hours in the lab for me today. And fewer hours overall, since the project is ending and I have to present it tomorrow. I had some time for homework after lab, then dinner with Meg (finally...), and then some procrastination time, then the orchestra/chorus concert. It wasn't so bad, but I didn't really want to be there on account of all the other things I had to do, and it was kind of trying to sit through the Collegium performance first. It seemed to keep going and going and going, and I kept thinking, can I please just go play now and be done with it? Then in the middle of the Haydn Heiligmesse my back started hurting like a bitch and I could not find a comfortable position in which to play. But finally it was over. And more work time. Then Glo Opera rehearsal at eleven at night. And which lasted about two hours. Not the most pleasant surprise when you were expecting to be there an hour and when you need to figure out what you're going to do for presenting "microbes in the news" the next day and you need sleep too. However, upon returning home I sat around talking with dormies instead of getting to work. It's crazy the things I do in a day. Such is life at Reed.

My presentation today went okay. And I have another one tomorrow, but this time about things I've been doing. So, now I have to go get my visual aids in order. Yes. Then there are about ten gazillion other things to do. This week will be busy, and the next one, and the next one, and then the beginning of the one after that will be full of moving my shit somewhere (probably, at least some of it). But then I go home for a while and maybe relax. But until then, busy busy busy. I'm kind of doubting I can afford Renn Fayre. But then I feel heretical. And really, how could anyone work during Renn Fayre?
