I don't usually put memes in my LJ, but this one sounded interesting. I've seen a couple variations of it; this one has five questions, and because I'm a procrastinator, I'm now getting around to answering these ones from
rebirtha:
1.How does the way you've chosen to perform at Reed make you feel-do you feel like you've wasted a lot of money, do you feel like your time at school has been wasted?
I'd probably consider it wasted if I never went back to finish what I've started. I did make a few mistakes (which may be understating the case) but my two and a half years at Reed weren't without their value. I hope I'm wiser for them.
2.At what point during your life did you feel the least worthy of living?
The one that comes most quickly to mind is the end of sophomore year, when I knew how much class work I'd neglected and what I had to do to catch up, but completely lacked the motivation to do it, and on top of that not knowing where I would be living the following year.
3.Has your affinity with/assimilation into the culture of your college decreased the likelihood that you can find happiness outside such a rarified setting? Explain, if possible.
No. Reed is a great place, but there were certain aspects of its culture that bother me a bit. I was probably bothered by it more than was necessary because I was beginning to lose perspective. I consider it difficult to be happy without any sense of perspective. So really, I needed time off and away. Plus, I tend to surround myself with the same sort of people no matter where I am.
4.And following from that, how do you feel about the baser aspects of Albuquerque, and how does being in Albuquerque make you feel?
I feel like I'm waiting. Waiting for another opportunity to leave. And when I'm not waiting, I'm angry.
5.If you could kill one popular music star and never be discovered, who, and how?
Kelly Clarkson. Flayed alive.
And now, dear reader, it's your turn. If you want an interview, leave a comment to that effect. I reply with the questions, you post the questions with their answers in your own journal, solicit others to participate, and so on.
