Parents are so weird. My dad bitches and moans all the time about the PBS membership drives, which he calls "begging sessions." Yet, every time one of these membership drives is going, he watches almost obsessively. Does he watch PBS obsessively otherwise? No.

Today was apparently psychic day in my house. My niece was here, having spent the night with us, getting her used to staying over for when her mom and dad jaunt off to Denver. Anyway, she was here, playing downstairs and announces that she's going to have a little brother. Turns out that yes, she is going to have a little sibling soon, but her parents hadn't told her anything about it yet (plus it's too early to tell whether it will indeed be a brother). Also, I'd sort of guessed before hearing the news, though I wouldn't have stated the guess as a certainty.

Got new pants yesterday. Such good stuff. The shirts-to-pants ratio of my wardrobe is now much more balanced. Although, in the combined running around yesterday there were many opportunities for potential accidents, particularly when idiots would turn in front of me without having right-of-way. But, aside from that, there was pants-buying, pants games, and much fun. Alanna dyed her sister's hair purple and shaved her own off. And Alexis, Alanna and I went to the Flying Hippie and played the pants game and invented the 'fro game, then went over the Lex's to watch Bend It Like Beckham (and continue the pants game - "the offside rule is when the pants are between the sea salt and the teriyaki sauce").
