I had things to write about, but I've forgotten most of them in the face of feast-stupor. And general tiredness. I ate a ten-course meal (skipping a couple of courses, though) for Chinese New Year today.
But, most of what I was going to say was bitching about the group project for Early English Outlaws. I hate working with freshmen. We were supposed to meet on Monday, but apparently everyone else forgot, or so Caitlin said. Bullshit. Doug fucking called me at the time we were supposed to be meeting - when I was at the library waiting for people, not at home to answer the phone. And no, I don't have a cell phone. I'm one of the few people left around here who doesn't. And I will remain so. Sure, they make getting in touch with people easy, but I think it's become too easy. No need to be efficient about communicating things, because most people are in constant contact. And really, I doubt I'd be much easier to get a hold of with a cell phone, because I'd have the thing off most of the time, and I wouldn't be checking messages the second I got out of class, either. That's one thing that drives me nuts about people using their cell phones while walking around: they're too busy with the stupid thing to pay attention to the people around them. I? Don't want to be like that.
Anyway, the other members of my group for the damn presentation want to do a PowerPoint thing. And I hate PowerPoint. I don't know how to use it, really, because I don't give a flying crap about it. It's too easy to do with it what my fellow group members are doing - relying on it overmuch. They're concentrating more on visuals and stuff than actually having information to present. And that drives me batty, because I prefer to know what the hell I'm talking about, and because everyone wants to meet on Sunday to do stuff, I feel that I need to have some research done by that point. And that's going to be... fun. Because I have four other classes to worry about (and two of them to really worry about) and a life outside of school. Or, well, I try for the latter. Anyway, people to see and whatnot. So this presentation thing is cutting into my weekends, which I like to use to catch up on stuff and relax a bit too. At least the whole thing will be over before MSSA happy hour next week.
In other news, I found my first grey hair a few weeks ago. According to my mother, there are actually two of them. Only 23 and going grey already. But hey, I probably won't be carded until I'm 40, because I'll have the grey hair and the giant circles under my eyes.
Today I was perusing the classified ads in the Daily Lobo, and there was one for a job as an audiobook listener. Bascially, it's getting paid to listen to books on tape and make sure there are no problems with the recording. It's only $6 an hour, but not bad for a job with flexible hours to get a little extra entertainment money. So, I called about it, waiting to hear back.
And sleep now, so I can get up and do things.
