The ACLU is running a campaign against the Military Commissions Act. The act erodes habeas corpus rights, among other absolutely lovely things. There's more on the act here, and more on habeas here. I've signed the petition, and I'm posting this here because I think this is a hell of a lot more important than certain other things people in LJland have been springing to action on lately. Sure, there's a bunch of rhetoric at the above links, but that aside, it's still important to retain our right to not be thrown in jail and left to rot for unknown reasons.
