I'm Organized? You Must Be Kidding

sjesterI took advantage of my parents being away in Santa Fe and practiced today for the first time in quite a while. It went pretty well; I didn't need 20 minutes just to tune.
Also went to the conversation on The Tempest. This time we did a thing where everyone sat around the stage, and one at a time (on a volunteer basis) went to the center of the stage, and went around the circle engaging the people watching, not saying anything. Those watching called out sentences starting with "I see..." Some of the things people said when I was up there were, "organization," "too much energy for one person," "the first person going counter-clockwise," and "a fawn [or was that faun?] getting up on its legs for the first time." Also "good humor" and "elevator shoes."
And perhaps I shall finish this later, as my niece is here.
My niece is staying here overnight. Her dad's taking the bar exam starting tomorrow, so they brought her over here so he can get enough rest before that.
I think tonight I'll go to bed early. I'm kind of tired now, and I'll probably be woken up early anyway. That will probably be useful, as I have some stuff to do before going to rehearsal early so I can learn how to use the sound system.
I think I've found what it was I was missing: art, beauty, and a sense of wonder. Rather unfortunate to be missing those things during the semester I was supposed to be thinking about musical aesthetics.
