It started with sleeping through Bio lecture and being awoken by a phone call from Meg at break time. I did make it to the rest of my classes. String Quartet was awesome. Best conference I've had all semester. Though I had at best a vague recollection of the readings, I was still able to talk intelligently about Bartok. Then there was lunch, where I managed to mostly avoid Homeless Man. I did see him, but didn't have to talk to him or anything. As far as I know, he didn't even see me. Logic was boring. Very boring. I did manage to somehow stay awake. But I've been in a darn good mood all day, and just a bit flirtatious. I picked my room in the German house. I got a corner room, but it's on the NE corner, not the SW, as I would have liked best. At least I get the sun in the morning. Right now I don't ever get sun because my window faces north. Grr. Actually I think my room for next year has only one window, because the stairway is on the north side, but the window faces east. I'm happy as long as I have a window facing the sun at some point. I met most of my housemates. Only two guys. I can deal with that. One of them, the one that did show up for the lottery, thought I was going to be a junior next year. Odd. It was also at the housing lottery that I talked to James a bit. He said that he had heard I "[was] beautiful at spring formal." Now, who told him that, I wonder? I didn't get a chance to ask, as I was distracted by housing matters, but I went through the list of people I saw at spring formal wondering which of them might have had an opportunity to talk with James. I did notice that Darrow had been talking with him when I went to the housing lottery, but that's not a very likely possibility, mostly because Darrow didn't remember seeing me. Which leaves one other major possibility in my mind that creeps me out just a little bit. Senate and Quest Board elections are this week. This week's issue of the Quest has pictures and statements from all the candidates, and as I am running as part of a team for Quest Board, my picture is in there. And it's a pretty good one. There was also the elections assembly tonight, which I had to be at. It went pretty well, I think. I was a little pissed off when one of the other candidates implied that I don't do my job as copy editor very well. I was tired all day, and yet now that it's starting to get late, not sleepy! What the fuck is my problem? I don't know. I've walked through the rain quite a bit today. I've had lots of places to go and it's been raining all freaking day. And I still have to make another trip to the library. I think I'll do that, so that I can get to the IMC before it closes and then look for some books, then come back and find out what song it is that's been stuck in my head since talking about sampling in String Quartet. I had been the only one in my class who knew what sampling is. I'm also the only one who is not at all familiar with Chopin's music. All I know about it is that it's mostly piano stuff, and I am therefore not interested. Well, the library beckons. I must answer the bitch mistress's call.
