Ah, I love those evenings when you just end up hanging out with all sorts of people, drifting from group to group, place to place. I hadn't had such an evening for quite a while, in fact not even terribly social evenings in a while, but tonight was such. Good stuff, that.

First, I went to see the play "Good Night Desdemona, Good Morning Juliet" with Meg et. al. Then on the way back to my house, I ran into Katie et. al. (a contingent of last year's Chittick cult, basically) and we hung out in front of Gray Center for a while, then proceeded to my house where apparently there was a party. And there was. And there was wine at this party, which was rather quickly consumed. I got just two glasses. After that, we stood outside my house for a while, then over to Scholz II for the playing of music. Then I had planned to head home, but ran into Rene and Rachel on the way, and so I made a stop at the Russian House for a bit. Which is how the evening began, really. I stopped there and got a cookie on my way over to the theater. (In the middle of the word "theater" is the word "eat." There is also "heat," which was not in the weather.) The show was pretty good. If you put Shakespeare and academic speculation into a blender, this show is what you would get. They did a staged reading of it, which took a little getting used to, because hey, the actors are carrying around scripts. The only other time I'd seen such a thing happen (sort of) was a terrible production I saw at a theater festval. But in that case, it was just that the actors had forgotten their lines or knew they would. One person got up and went offstage to get a copy of the script in the middle of the show. And another had put them on the back of a pillow. Ah, high school theater from a shitty school district... Anyway, in the staged reading, after a while you barely noticed the page turns.

Tomorrow (today technically, but after getting some sleep) is the last of the editing, pants shopping, dinner out, working, perhaps Kaffeeklatsch with chocolatey things to eat, more work, and Hum play rehearsal. I'm hoping to work in some time for being social in there somewhere. Other than going shopping and to dinner, that is. So, off to sleep I should go, since getting up relatively early would be recommended for accomplishing all that which must be done.
