Let Me Be Red With Mirth
Jul. 20th, 2002 10:30 pmAnd let me be red with speaking that phrase over and over and over again. In rehearsal, I'm supposed to give that cue line, because it's the last in a scene for which the lines will be recorded (because the actors will be too busy smoking and undressing) and which goes straight into the next scene, which is one they started over so many times that I lost count.
I'm glad, though, that I'm responsible for being on book and not for keeping track of the blocking, because that changes damn near every time they rehearse a scene. Also, it will be nice when we have all the sounds on one CD, and using the sound system instead of the timer-less CD player.
My niece was here again today. I didn't see her very much, though, because I got up later than I had intended and I had to get out and to the theater. But she was still here when I got home. Yesterday she had discovered the carousel horse sitting on top of my stereo. (I found her and my mom in my room, Amelia sitting on the bed.) So today she wanted to see it again. (Apparently mom has stopped taking out her collection for her.) She kept pointing at something above my desk and saying, "Buh," but as that's her word for "that," I couldn't tell what she meant.
Other than that, it was a day of postal goodness; I got letters from Kate and Kristina. It's good to hear from people. It reminds me that there is life outside of Albuquerque. I hate living here. I'm happy to be involved in the show and all; it gives me something enjoyable to do and a way to forget about not wanting to have been here for the summer in the first place. Of course, there could be a very good reason why things are working out the way they are, but I can't know that yet, if at all, so that's nothing but speculation.
