What's Gone, Past Help
Aug. 13th, 2002 02:36 amHad a pleasant evening at the Floras' watching locally-produced, indie shorts (including "Skanky the Pimp" cartoons). (Films, that is.) Also saw the end of a documentary called "Mule Skinner Blues," and the end of a cartoon called "The Nine Lives of Felix the Cat." Some of the strangest shit I've ever seen. We also watched some music videos and an HBO special with John Leguizamo.
There was also just plain hanging out, with most of us talking in the kitchen while Ian, Jack, and Patrick sequestered themselves with Jack's new electric guitar.
Getting there was something of an adventure. I had directions that only gave me a rough idea of where it was, and a memory of having been there briefly once before. Nor did I have any freaking idea which would be the best way to get there (or back home, for that matter). But I managed to find it pretty easily, and by a way that allowed me to avoid most of the construction on Lomas, right near there. Couldn't avoid it on the way home, though, so I was led on a pretty inefficient path.
( Past grief? )
