Just took a big freakin' evening nap, which doesn't make for an early bedtime. But still perhaps I'll sleep well at something like a reasonable hour, because apparently we have wine. (Maybe this time I won't spill a whole glass of it.) Drinking wine always makes me feel like such a lightweight.
Anyway, in other news, Amelia is finally warming up to me again. Played with her a bit, tickling her a little, blowing bubbles, joining in on "Ring Around the Roses," and bringing her some of my spoils from last year's Ball Drop. So today when she left, when asked to say all her goodbyes, she actually said "goodbye Dawn" instead of "no."
Later: Yep, I'm a bit tipsy from two glasses of wine. I'd have had only one, but dad didn't have any and no one else would take the last of it. So I did. And I feel quite good right now. Plus I made my mom chuckle and my aunt Carol remark that I'd been home long enough for my dad's humor to rub off by making a joke about Hoover Middle School. (Oh come on. Don't you just think "vacuum" when you hear "Hoover?")
