My sleeping schedule is once again all messed up, and just in time for classes to start again in a week. Yay. Getting up at about three every day could prevent what little chance I have of accomplishing the things I'd planned to do over break before classes start.

That paper I never wrote for the Sea Captain is not going to be finished, and probably not even started, by the time spring semester starts. Ah well. I can still get it done somehow. Will have to. I'm also not going to make any headway on the stuff I wanted to write for fun. Will have to scribble in my precious little spare time, I suppose.

One thing I really need to do is clean out the bookshelf, because the book situation is getting ridiculous and I'll be getting more this week, probably Wednesday. So that should be the plan for tomorrow. I have way too many books that I haven't touched in years. Some I think I'll put away for Amelia to read eventually, and others - the ones I don't want to keep either for myself or Amelia and are in good condition - I'll sell to a used bookstore.

Had a Pervy Tolkien Fanciers meeting tonight. (I will insist on calling the club that unofficially.) It was rather productive and went smoothly. Meeting dates for the rest of the semester and readings for discussion are set. I must remember to post to the forum about the Ted Nasmith exhibit. There are a couple other items I might post about as well, one of which I'll probably discuss here as well in a projected entry on anger, war, and Tolkien.

I should sleep for at least a bit, I think. Or just stay up and make sure I'm good and tired tomorrow night and maybe able to sleep normal hours. (Of course, how often has that worked?) At any rate, I'll be getting up in the morning on Wednesday to go help with IMS stuff.

Earlier I was trying to think of a word for the opposite of empiricism, but I couldn't. Either I'm forgetting, or don't know it. Which is odd. I have the concept, but no word for it. Well, no convenient expression. Nothing that isn't unwieldy or makes too much reference to Plato.

Anyway. I got all my books from last semester put away on the bookshelf. Of course, now the crate that did have those books in it is filled up again with books I took off the shelves to make more room on the shelves in general. Next step: sorting and disposing. Tomorrow I think I'll try shuffling things around on the shelves I have above my desk, which is probably a more convenient place for the books I'll need for class.

I've been watching Yu-Gi-Oh regularly for the past week or so. It's good to have some knowledge of the topic of a forum one belongs to. And watching the show is rather easier than trying to string hints and references together.

This afternoon I used the computer downstairs while everyone else was a way. That meant I had to get online via AOL, on which my account still has parental controls. And those parental controls wouldn't let me read an interview with Ian McKellen. The hell? I figure the page was blocked because the interview mentions the fact that Sir Ian is a gay activist. But still. "Mature teens" need to be protected from any mention of homosexuality, however benign? That is ridiculous.
