Who You Callin' A Lush?
Jul. 11th, 2004 12:12 amThe original plan for tonight was to go have dinner and then go to a show at the Tricklock with Gabby and probably Nate and possibly some other people. But in the afternoon Gabby called to cancel because she had to go to a baby shower that was being held in the evening. So I went out anyway. Grabbed some food at Frontier and then headed over to Geckos just about when Eric got off work to see if anything was going on. And so I went bar hopping with him and Amanda. And a friend of Eric's named Eppie (I don't know if I'm spelling that right) was around for a while.
It was another three-drinks-for-the-price-of-two night, as my tab at Geckos somehow got lost in the ether and the evening bartender told me not to worry about it. (So now my karmic guilt will follow me for another week, as I didn't get a chance today to make up for the shitty tip I left yesterday. But maybe I shouldn't feel too bad about it, since the waiter who closed me out was being a petulant punk. I didn't know that at the time, though.) Sat outside with the E boys while Eric told jokes in really bad taste. Then we went to Stella Blue - the most hippie bar I've ever been in; the bartender had white-boy dreads - where Amanda joined us, and we sat outside again. It was quite nice weather for being outside; it had looked stormy when I left the house. And sitting outside when people are smoking is always a good thing. After Eppie went off somewhere, I got to hear all sorts of Geckos gossip. Ah, people with tempers.
After that intended to walk up to O'Neill's, but instead we decided to investigate Opa!. (No really, there an ! in the name.) We had some sort of burnt cheese, which was quite good. And this coming from a girl who isn't that big a fan of cheese. I don't remember the Greek name for the life of me, except that it starts with an S. I ended up eating most of it.
So now I am in a good mood. The thing that was bothering me yesterday and putting me in a bad mood is resolved. Or beginning to be. The first step taken, at least. Change for the better. And all that.
On the agenda for tomorrow: reading. Lots of it.
