The presentation for the Outlaws class is over and done with. So now I'm basically done with the class except for making sure the professor knows that I was not slacking on the project (I was perfectly willing to work on things, but my partner basically shut me out of the process and then was a giant bitch about it) and showing up next week. So, in celebration of that fact, I got myself a little present today. A Pirate Devil Duckie. Saw it at Beeps today and had to get it, because it's just so fitting.

And now for the rest of my stuff, like the papers I still need to deal with, the catching up on Latin and Sanskrit (yay for reviewing in Sanskrit for the last four classes), and finishing my degree application. And... finding someone to work with on my thesis next year. I'm applying through the Philosophy department, since that way I'll have more time for the prospectus and an extra week for actually writing. I'm planning on doing something with philosophy of language, which will require lots of reading because I've somehow managed to not get much of a grounding in that area, even with all the language/linguistics type stuff I do. So one of my projects for this summer is to do some background reading so that I can refine my thesis topic.

It's so strange; I am, at this point, qualified for a degree in philosophy, and yet I feel like I've done so little work in the field. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I haven't had a chance to really get into the areas I'm most interested in, namely philosophy of language, and both Medieval and contemporary philosophy.
