My sense of time is pretty much fucked right now. I was up almost all night, except for a light, two-hour nap, because I didn't start on my Anthro final until two in the morning. But it is done, and a full four pages. It could have been five, if I'd expanded even a little on the very last bits, but it wasn't strictly necessary and I wanted to be done with it. So, I haven't slept since I woke up from the nap at five, and yet I'm not sleepy.

But the important thing is, I'm done with summer school and I can now watch TV with a free conscience. And I started by watching my tape of Veronica Mars. I've seen three episodes so far, and I like it. I'll be taping it regularly come fall, because it'll run at the same time as Lost (why oh why must they run it against other really popular shows? First House and now Lost...) and our upstairs TV doesn't pick up UPN anyway. Silly rabbit ears.

Ah, seven glorious weeks off. This is the longest break I've had since I started going to UNM two summers ago after my semester off from, well, life. Normal life, anyway. And, it is official, I'm going out to the Bay Area from about July 28th to August 3rd. (Flying in and out of Reno, since Tim lives near there and at least half the point of the trip is to visit him before he is enveloped into law school's gaping maw.) Bought the tickets today, so there it is. I'll have a stop in Phoenix on the way there and in Vegas on the way back. Both layovers are substantial but without being overlong, so I'll have to find something to do in that time. Vegas is easy: drinking and gambling. Heh. But I don't think I've been through the Phoenix airport, so I don't know what diversions are available there. Obviously not gambling, it not being Nevada.

I am very upset with the Parking and Transportation people. First, they fuck around with the G lot, splitting it into G and Q lots (and don't have an explanation for this posted anywhere, ever), and then when I go to buy my permit for next year, I don't even get the option of getting a Q permit for whatever reason, so now I will have to park in what is now south G. Which I hate. With death. Haaaaaaaaaaate. I avoid parking there as much as I can, which, really isn't hard at the moment, because north G is nice and pretty much has at least a few open spots, even if they're out on the outer fringes near the Citadel apartments. I don't like this new arrangement, but fortunately I don't have any classes before two in the afternoon this fall, so I won't have to deal with the morning rush bullshit. Otherwise, I might have to go and rip the Parking jerks a few new ones. Oh, and to add to the P&T haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate, they post the construction information online, as if everyone goes and checks their damned website all the time. Why should I do that when nothing on the site has any information that wasn't in the e-mail they sent out about the parking changes, even though they referred anyone with questions to the website. Good going, jackasses. Way to deliver on your promises. Makes me really trust that your construction info is going to be up to date. Plus, it's not like they announced any of the stuff about such info anywhere but on the website, which isn't very effective for people who don't bother to check the website on a regular basis to begin with.

And in non-irritating news, I saw Batman Begins the other day. Good stuff. And I'm not even really into Batman very much. I missed most of the previous movies, so really I had only what knowledge I could pick up without watching the movies or reading the comics. But this seemed like a pretty good place to start. Origin stories are always fun, and this one was well told.
