When Meg gets people together for dinner, you know it's going to be interesting. So of course tonight's dinner was an adventure. I went with Meg and others from ODB to Delta, which is up the hill from Reed. Good thing it's that close, as it turned out. Four of us were going to go in Kate's car, which wouldn't start. So Meg and I walked up to Delta to tell Claudia and, um, someone whose name I don't know that Kate and Jen were trying to start the car and probably needed to be picked up. So Meg and I wait for a table and for everyone else. Getting a table was interesting, since we had six people and Delta is a rather small place. There was one table that would comfortably seat six, but there were people already there who were taking their sweet time about paying their check and leaving. They didn't leave until after we were already sitting down, despite the fact that we glared at them while still waiting.

But we did finally get to sit down and eat - an hour and a half after we had set out to do so. After dinner we jump started Kate's car, as it turned out that she had jumper cables sitting in a soggy box in the trunk. It also seemed to be raining. You couldn't feel the rain falling, just kind of see it falling past the lights. That might explain why the sidewalks have been wet all day but not once had I seen it actually raining until after dinner. What's with this wimpy rain? Can't rain all at once and get it over with, no, instead it makes a half-assed job of raining and has to do it all the damn time.

It's only eleven thirty and I'm sleepy and am seriously considering going to bed. What's wrong with me?

Plenty of things, probably.

How is "working" a mood?!

Why?
Because ketchup makes everything better.

I went and checked my mail today, because the Gray center was actually unlocked for a while. My mailbox was stuffed, which I found quite pleasant, especially since usually I go and it's empty. I had three issues of The Nation. magazine, along with a bill for said subscription; a bank statement (there's excitement for you); a Christmas card from Academy which had a really nice picture on the front so I put it up on my door; a Reader's Digest; a memo from Stevie K about his upcoming resignation; my grades on the lab reports for the pop bio section (slighly less than average, maybe because I didn't give a shit about those labs); and my grades for the semester. Guess who just barely passed Calculus? Ooh, ooh, me! Got a C-. I passed, I got credit for the class, I don't care anymore. I might have to go talk to people, like my adviser and the prof for that class, about it. Whatever.

I have seen the writing on the wall.
Don't think I need anything at all."
