Jul. 27th, 2002 01:31 amI did manage to get up before noon today, even after not falling asleep until six or so. But I was already downstairs and eating breakfast at eleven or so. Saw my niece, since my sister was here to finish refinishing and decorating my old toy box for Amelia. I sat outside with them and did my organizational things for the show. Unfortunately, I have to re-do the lists I made because I skipped one cue and didn't realize this until I was in rehearsal. Which would explain why I came up with a total of 39 cues when I'd been figuring there would be a full 40.
Rehearsal was pretty good. We ran the show once, and seemed to take less time than yesterday. Then it was movement 1 again. There were moments throughout when, if I were more "prone to weeping, as our sex commonly are," I would have burst into tears. Sometimes it was because what's happening onstage is a tearjerker, like the reunion at the end, or because it's just that amazingly beautiful and exemplary of why I like theater in the first place. The latter is the same kind of thing I felt when I saw Inherit the Wind my freshman year of high school. That was the last show of the year, so I auditioned for the very first one the next, which, incidentally, was The Winter's Tale. I didn't get a part then, either, but soon thereafter I got into the technical side of things.
After rehearsal, I went to the Frontier with Alanna, Gabrielle (stage manager), Anna (light board op), and Pat (Polixenes). I am now broke. Well, I do have a pocketful of change, but that's about it. But, I did manage to eat three meals in one day for the first time in quite a while. It was fun, though I did realize how out of it I am when it comes to TV, movies, and most fiction.
But for now, bed. There be afternoon rehearsal tomorrow. Gah.
