The internet situation in my house is getting ridiculous again. A few months ago, my parents started playing games online and would spend several hours in the evening playing them. I figured the novelty would wear off after a while and they'd get tired of it. And indeed they did. Until they found new games. And now it's gotten to the point where I have to go downstairs at midnight and kick my dad off so I can check my e-mail and whatnot before going to sleep. He behaves this way with these games and expects me to believe he has no trouble whatsoever with being responsible about gambling? The man desperately needs something to do with his time.

On Saturday I got to meet my nephew. He's a week old today. Yesterday. Whatever. He was born last Monday, as noted previously. He's a very well-behaved kid. Stays asleep even being passed from one person to another. And he has such long fingers. And he's got dark hair, while his sister is blonde.

Friday was the cast trip to see Othello. Only four of us made it, though. We convened at Geckos first. Gabrielle and I were the only ones actually on time. (Frickin' actors...) Jessica was last to arrive and ordered food, so we got to the theater just before show time. We had to get on the waiting list, but we all got seats. In the front row, even. It was enjoyable. Maybe not outstanding, but worth the price of admission. Although one of the actors made me want to gnaw on my knuckles. But they had a good Iago and a solid Othello, which is the important part.

Uh... Just checked my e-mail. And I think I've just been asked out. Unfortunately not from the direction I was looking for. But fortunately, it's not Fish Boy. And, um. I'm not sure what to say. "I'm not a coffee drinker, but I am lacking in people to talk philosophy with, so..." I think I'll wait a bit to write back, though, and do so when I'm not in complete and utter shock. (And after a trip to Geckos that I'd been planning anyway.) I've... never been asked out before. (Because Reedies don't date like normal people.) And I wasn't expecting this guy to ask me, either. I wouldn't mind being friends, but "adorkable" isn't exactly my type. (Lex, you should now know who I'm talking about.)

I should go write up my paper proposal for Drugs & Lit now. It's due tomorrow. Need to earn that drink I'm going for after the MSSA colloquium.
