I See A Red Door
Apr. 14th, 2004 12:30 amFound out today that someone in one of my classes graduated from Reed. And he has all the social skills of a Reedie.
Had a quiz in philosophy yesterday and one in Drugs & Lit. today. I think I did well on both. Well, I know I did well on the Drugs quiz, because we go over the answers right after handing them in. And I'm pretty confident about the philosophy one.
I've pretty much decided what I'm taking next fall:
Dr. O's Bible as Literature class
Mary Power's Irish Lit. class
Ethical Theory (because I need something in ethics)
Symbolic Logic (becasue I can't derive shit to save my life)
Latin
Sanskrit
I briefly considered Old English but decided I really shouldn't fry my brain like that. Three dead languages in one semester is a bit much. As it is, Sanskrit, Logic, and Latin follow one right after another every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. At least I'll be done with class by one in the afternoon on those days.
This semester's MSSA colloquium was today, and it was a good one. I unfortunately missed the first session because of class. Afterwards I went and had a drink at Geckos.
I think I've lost one of the sources I was planning to use in the Sea Captain's paper. I have a Reynolds article mentioned in my notes, but I have no idea where the frickin' thing is. Ah well. I still have three usable sources. And I might have already decided not to use it, because medicine is probably not relevant to whatever the hell I'm talking about.
Auditions for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest are this weekend. I'm going just for shits and giggles. I'll have to go Sunday, though, because I have other things on Saturday. And I think I'm going to go see The Taming of the Shrew at ALT. I should call Gabrielle about that.
