It's after one in the morning and I've been online for less than an hour. Because my dad didn't quit playing games online until after midnight, having been playing for three hours. Ridiculous. How does one not get bored doing just one thing for that long?

My niece spent the night here last night. At dinner she looked up at me and said, "You have a very nice voice."

The other day my mom asked me to type up the rough draft of her paper for her. And it was definitely a rough draft. Most of the sentences weren't even complete. I wasn't sure if I should offer help beyond typing it or not. So I didn't. She had good ideas, but the expression of them wasn't great. I don't know the whole story behind the classes she has to take. The school district pays for it, so it's some sort of requirement. Tests she has to take because of "No Child Left Behind," I think. NCLB means everyone gets tested, students, teachers, teachers' assistants. What good does it do to test everyone all the time? That's not education.

Today I went to Title Wave Books with Gabrielle because we both had things to sell. I took something like fifteen books, of which they took two. And most of them were in good, if not excellent condition. Lame.

Was up in Denver for the weekend, got to see my sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law. I now have a new nickname, courtesy of the brother-in-law: Bug. We arrived Thursday, went out to dinner at a place called Presto's that had pizza and strawberry-vodka lemonade. Good stuff. We stayed at my sister's house, and I slept on the chaise lounge. Friday Mike (brother-in-law), my parents and I went to the 16th Street Mall. In the evening we all had a small dinner party. I went out with Monica (sister), Mike, and Cooper (the dog) to get the food and later just Mike to pick up a small barbecue grill from his old roommate. We also drove around a bit to see a few things in the area. I had a glass out of every bottle of wine there was. Saturday mom and I went over to see my sister's wedding dress and then we picked up dad and went out to Hudson Gardens to look at possible sites for the wedding ceremony. We didn't look for very long, because a thunderstorm started while we were there. The lightning was quite close and knocked out the power. After getting back to the house, Monica and I went to get sandwiches, one for me because I hadn't eaten all day and one for one of her friends who was not having a good day, and to take the dog for a walk. We went in her Jeep, which had the top off, so we got rained on a bit. The guy at the deli was in no hurry to make the sandwiches, and he talked a lot. So now I know that his name is Tony, he's Italian and single and works afternoons Monday through Friday, and Saturday evenings. However, I don't live in Denver, he's too old for me, and isn't my type anyway. But hey, we got free brownies from him. As we were walking out the door, Monica said, "I think he was flirting with us." I replied, "Gee, you think? Even I picked up on that one." After I ate and the other sandwich was delivered, we took Cooper to Inspiration Point and walked out to where the view is best. Plans for the evening had originally included going to a Rockies game, but since it was rainy and cold, we decided not to go. And since we couldn't decide what to do instead, we ate at the house and finished off the wine from the night before. Dad was kind of a pain in the ass all weekend. By Saturday I wanted to kick him in the head. We'd complain about him when out in the Jeep, because my parents weren't along on those trips.

Sunday we came back, and I got to town just in time to get back in the car and go out to Bernalillo for Gabby's graduation party. As it was a party for a high school graduation, I figured there would be no liquor around. Except there was. Though I was the only one of Gabby's friends old enough to drink, she has a large enough family to justify having a well-stocked bar. There were also a few teachers there: Mickey, Richard, and Ms. Nahary. it was a nice evening at a very nice house, and I ended up staying kind of late, through the opening of presents and cards. (And damn, there were a lot of cards.) I shall have to call Gabby soon. And Jamie, because she called the other day and I haven't called back yet because I'm a punk and keep forgetting. Also, Mary is back in town, if only briefly. Yay!

Sleep now, becuase I should do stuff tomorrow.
