Holy crap, I didn't have to make any adjustments to the date on this update. Anyway.

Saw "Dracula" on Sunday. The tickets were damn expensive, because it was a special closing night thing, but they gave me food and wine as well, so I can't complain too much. And, it was worth it. Fucking brilliant show. I wish I had even half the talent of any of the Tricklock Company folk. The script was well done, mostly faithful to the book except for alteration of the ending and conflation of a couple characters. And more obvious sex and drug elements. Damn good stuff.

I noticed today that I've finished all of my requirements for my major. In fact, I've already overshot by three credit hours. All I have left, really, is the stupid core requirements. There are two different sets - general university and college of arts &sciences - and apparently they count things differently. My transferred Calc I credit apparently counts for one and not the other. Similar story for other transferred classes. I found all this out while trying to figure out which Philosophy class I should take next semester. And the answer to that is: whichever the hell I want. The ones I was considering were Nagarjuna, 20th Century French Thought, Schopenhauer, and Philosophy & Literature. The first one is out just because I'm already taking a class (Sanskrit) with the professor teaching it and I want to take classes with some other Philosophy profs, because I've had only four different ones so far. Second one is out because I'm not interested in the subject enough to be excited about writing an 18-page research paper. Also, I don't think I'll want to go to another two-and-a-half-hour class right after two and a half hours of History of the English Language. So that leaves Schopenhauer and Philosophy & Literature. I'm thinking it'll be P&L, which I've taken before but can take again because it changes depending on who's teaching it and what they're going to read. Next semester it's Heidegger, Levinas, and Derrida. The difficulty level is set pretty high; the class is intended for "graduates and ambitious undergrads." Now there's a challenge I can't resist. So I think it will be that one, barring some horrible scheduling conflict involving Medieval Legacy.

The rest of my schedule is pretty much determined. Second semester of Sanskrit, Latin 102, Leslie's advanced Tolkien class, H. E. L., and Medieval Legacy. (Not doing Ancient or Modern Legacy, because 1. I've taken Modern Philosophy already, and 2. I do not want to read Plato's Republic ever again unless I'm reading it in the original Greek.)

I spent over two hours translating things, so now I'm tired. Sleep time soon.
