Planet Earth Is Blue and There's Nothing I Can Do

I'm being such a bad student this week. Skipped Sanskrit twice, and today went to Leslie's class with only one paragraph of my paper written. Which was almost a page long. But she doesn't know that, because she was out of town, and we did peer reviewing stuff. Yeah. Some of the comments I got were useful, and some were just... no. Excuse me for being used to writing for scholarly types rather than a more general audience. I a scholarly sort myself. Plus, I've read a bunch of writers who write prose that is much denser and more difficult to work through than mine. So, feh. But then, reading highly repetitive things drives me fucking batty, so I guess we're even. (There is no need to double the length of each paragraph by repeating in the second half what was said in the first half but with different word choice and order. Well, it wasn't quite that bad, but almost.)

So, yeah. I went to class sorely underprepared. But in my defense, I had a HEL exam last night, and while I'd been anticipating some time for review (which was in the freaking syllabus), that didn't actually happen. So there were things on the exam that I couldn't even begin to talk about, like the strong verbs. And I completely bullshitted the phonological changes affecting grammatical gender question. Because... ack. So I came home and had a good, stiff drink, tried to write some, got stuck.

And now I'm going to go do something I probably should have done days ago, and that is go to bed before midnight. Sleep are good.
