New Toy

Went up to Denver this past weekend. Not quite as quick a trip as the one for my sister's wedding, as that was an overnight thing. Went Friday, came back Sunday, so a little more time. My brother-in-law works at the Apple Store, so on Saturday we went over there and I got my new computer. So now I have a little 12-inch PowerBook. It has a scrolling trackpad. Among a bunch of other cool things. I'm going to hang on to the old one for a bit, because there are a bunch of things on it that I want to transfer, and I'm not going to have time to do that for at least two weeks.

And speaking of the next two weeks, they make me want to die. The rest of the major projects for the semester are due in that time. And after that I need to concentrate on the paper whose deadline I completely missed, and make sure that I acutally learned something in my non-Honors classes this semester.

The computer (oh, it/he needs a name...) came with a 30-day trial of Microsoft Office. Which means I can use Word for the rest of the semester with a few days to spare. Which was quite a scary thought when I realized it. Because that means the end of the semester is coming up fast, so there's the usual panic about that. Just have to make it to the afternoon of Thursday of next week. Then things will be better. And I think I'll be making a trip to Geckos this weekend. Or something like that.
